Paper wreath from a wildflower book

I've been in a paper wreath making mood lately. This is an easy project which has  proven to be therapeutic for me AND it keeps me from snacking because of the glue on my hands. I found a tattered wildflower book in the recycling center and used pages from it to create the colorful wreath.

Cut  28 - 3" squares from your choice of paper
Cut 1 - 5" circle of tag board or use a cereal box, etc.

Apply glue (Elmer's, glue stick) to edge of paper and then roll it into a cone.
Attach cones to base, overlapping as you go, for two rows of cones.

I made a medallion center for mine.

And finished it off with a cut-out of a butterfly that I found in another book.

For hanging, I attached a pop can tab on the back with hot glue. Another idea is to cut a slit in the base before you add the cones and thread a piece of string or ribbon through.

I've made 3 different paper-type wreaths and they are on my office walls. It's been a pleasure having them "hanging around".

Oh my gosh! This is so cute Tresa! Great job. I think I'll have to keep an eye out for just the right book to make a wreath with.
Have a fun weekend!
