Home

Tonight I was cleaning out a drawer and found a quote that I had scribbled on a piece of paper a while back.

"Home -an island, a refuge, a haven of love"

My home is my island and refuge. I work hard to make it a haven of love for Joel, and Mallory and Aaron when they visit. I love being at home, it's the most wonderful place to be. It's not about how much I happen to love this house, it's the life I live here with my family. It's about how good it feels when I walk in the door after work. It's about how I feel when the house is quiet and I have some solitude and how I feel safe, secure and happy. Sometimes the good feelings are so good that I find myself, saying aloud, "I love being home". I was talking to my mom last night and she told me that she feels the same way about her home and she says the same thing to herself as me. I must have gotten my home-loving attitude from her. I've always been a homebody and I don't imagine that will change. I agree Dorothy, there's no place like home.
